S.4 Students receiving the Second Place Grand Award in the 75th Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)
Two S.4 students (Woody Tai and David Ge) participated in the 75th Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio, USA from 10th – 16th May, 2025. As the world's largest international pre-college science competition, it provides an annual forum for over 1,700 young scientists from over 70 countries/regions, showcasing 1,300+ innovative research projects spanning comprehensive natural science and engineering applications.
Their award-winning project “Dual Functional Catalyst for Green Hydrogen Production” secured the Second Place Grand Award in the category of Energy: Sustainable Materials and Design. The research breakthrough involved hybrid water electrolysis technology, innovatively designing and synthesizing bimetallic sulfide-based nanostructured electrode materials through nano-processing and material design techniques. This achievement demonstrates strong alignment with global academic trends in green energy material development.
Notably, our school has now accumulated 2 Second Place Grand Awards and 2 Third Place Grand Awards in ISEF history. The Hong Kong regional awards ceremony was held on 21st May 2025.
