II. Event Content and Proceedings
This year's Aquatic Meet was successfully held on a sunny autumn day, continuing the school's fine tradition of promoting sportsmanship and strengthening community cohesion. All students were divided into four houses – Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green – competing in a friendly yet spirited atmosphere.
The events included 50m and 100m races for boys and girls in Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and Butterfly, alongside the thrilling 4x50m Inter-House Relay races. All officiating and operational duties were competently handled by our teachers and trained student helpers, whose professional and fair conduct ensured the smooth running of the competitions.
The spectator stands were filled with a vibrant atmosphere. Cheering squads from each house, equipped with creative slogans and props, led enthusiastic cheers, showcasing strong team spirit. Many parents also attended to support their children, adding a warm touch to the event. A particularly encouraging highlight this year was the presence of numerous alumni who returned to support their juniors. Their presence not only greatly encouraged the athletes but also exemplified the strong bond between the alumni and the school.
The climax of the Gala was a novel 50m Butterfly exhibition race. The unique lineup featured current teachers, graduating alumni, and members of the school's boys' and girls' swimming teams. This race transcended roles and generations, earning the loudest cheers from the audience and bringing the event to an exhilarating peak.
III. Closing Ceremony and Conclusion
Following the races, the closing ceremony commenced. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Chan Ka Shing, in his address, praised the athletes' competitive spirit, the dedication of the staff, and the enthusiastic participation of the whole school. He emphasized that the perseverance, discipline, and teamwork cultivated through sports are invaluable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Subsequently, Principal Mr. Ho Tik Shun and Dr. Chan, together with the four House Captains, presided over the prize presentation, awarding winners of individual events and the overall champion house. The 25th Annual Aquatic Meet concluded on a solemn yet joyous note with the entire assembly singing the school song led by the Principal, the Guest of Honour, and the House Captains.
