'Shenzhou 13' Documentary Screening

Our school was delighted to host a community film appreciation event on the evening of 25th February 2026, featuring the screening of the acclaimed documentary " Shenzhou 13" (窗外是藍星). Held in the school hall, the primary purpose of the event was to foster a deeper appreciation for the remarkable advancements in aerospace science developed in our country, China.

About the Film

"Beyond the Blue Sky" is China's first 8K ultra-high definition film shot in space. Captured by the crew of the Shenzhou-13 mission during their orbit, the film uses astronaut Wang Yaping's perspective as its narrative thread. It authentically documents historic moments, including their scientific experiments in the space station, extravehicular activities, and the experience of spending the Spring Festival in space. The film offers audiences a profound exploration of the astronauts' inner worlds and their philosophical reflections on the cosmos.

A Meaningful Community Initiative

The primary purpose of the event was to foster a deeper appreciation within our community for the remarkable advancements in aerospace science developed in our country, China. As a community service, our school opened its doors to the public free of charge, and we were thrilled to welcome over 80 participants. The audience included our students, their parents, and residents from the wider Siu Sai Wan district, reflecting a strong shared interest in our nation's space exploration milestones.

Student Reflection

The film deeply moved our students, prompting profound personal reflection. One of our participants, student 5A Chu Ho Wang, eloquently captured his thoughts on the movie, writing:

The evening was a resounding success, providing a meaningful platform for intergenerational dialogue. It successfully strengthened community bonds through a shared appreciation for national pride and the profound human story behind China's remarkable achievements in space exploration.
