CFSS's Dedication to Equipping Students With Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Solve Upcoming Challenges

Artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping our everyday lives on an unprecedented scale and fundamentally transforming the challenges and opportunities that we face every day. CFSS recognizes the need for introducing AI to our students and started AI education for many years. Opportunity knocks and it is our pleasure for CFSS to be one of the six pioneer schools to work closely with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) on the “AI for the Future” project. By co-designing an AI curriculum to be implemented in junior Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lessons in all Hong Kong secondary schools, we are dedicated to stimulating students’ awareness towards the effect of AI on their everyday life and equipping students with the knowledge of using AI to solve future challenges.

 

With the prime aim to stimulate students’ intrinsic motivation of using AI, a wide spectrum of AI platforms and toolkits were used in lessons, and students were given ample chances to have a glimpse of the power of AI. With an attempt to let students understand that AI is seeping their everyday life, several real and up-to-date AI applications were introduced in lessons.
