Joyful Parenting Programme: Parenting on Sex Education
We believe that life-long learning can help parents master parenting skills and self-improvement. In view of this, the school is organizing " Joyful Parenting Programme 2021-2022". Through a series of talks and workshops in different themes, parents will be equipped with positive parenting skills which empower them to cope with different challenges in establishing harmonious parent-child relationship. Parents who join this Programme will be rewarded with a certificate at the end of the school year.
The Fourth Parents’ Talk with the theme “Parenting on Sex Education” was successfully conducted online via Zoom videotelephony platform on 6 May 2022 (Friday). Mr. Cheung Yung-kit, the social worker from Society for Truth and Light gave a practical and fascinating talk on Sex Education to the participating parents. Mr. Cheung first defined and elaborated on the terms, for instance, gender, relationship, sexuality, pornography, and Values Education. The positioning of Sex Education by the society, school and family can be very different. He then claimed that parents should instill proper values through sex education to their children rather than avoiding it. More than 30 parents joined the talk that night. Many parents showed their support by giving prompt responses in the interactions with the social worker. The face-to-face “SoulCollage Workshop” will be held at school in the morning of 25/6/2022 (Saturday).
