Visit of Dr. Wong Hoi Yan, Connie

Dr. Wong Hoi Yan, Connie , also known as “The Pianist with Three Fingers” was invited to do a sharing session with our students during Class Period on Nov 10. She was born without normal fingers and toes because her mother was infected with German measles during pregnancy. During her childhood, she struggled through endless operations and hardship in order to live a normal life. Even that did not stop her from chasing after her dream – to be able to play the piano. She shared that the biggest obstacle she ever had was to overcome her own fears. She used to hide herself from the crowd and she would never show people her hands. When she was in secondary school, she became a Christian and her life was completely changed. She finished her BA music degree in the Chinese University, her MA and PhD in UCLA. Nowadays, she teaches part time in the Chinese University and is committed to a lot of volunteer work. She has visited many hospitals, schools and churches to share the inspiring story of her life.

Dr. Wong was one of the performing guests when Nick Vujicic (Life without Limbs) visited Hong Kong and spoke to over 45,000 people at the Asia World Expo on 23 Nov 2008..
