"Cells at Work" Movie Appreciation Session
Teachers from the Biology Department launched a movie appreciation session on "Cells at Work" at the MCL Cinema (Kornhill). More than CFSS 90 teachers and students participated in the movie appreciation session in the morning of March 8 (Saturday).
The movie "Cells at Work" is derived from the Japanese manga written by Akane Shimizu. It mainly tells the daily work of various cells in the human body after being anthropomorphized, such as red blood cells that are responsible for logistics operations (transporting oxygen) and white blood cells that are responsible for daily security work (removing harmful bacteria). The film uses a creative and novel approach to "personify" cells into distinct characters, and presents the human body's operating modes in a lively and humorous plot, allowing the audience to laugh while learning. After the movie appreciation session, students completed an online exercise, constructing what they had learned from the movie.
