The collection includes the first-ever spacecraft-carried long cowpea, the SJ-10-carried long cowpea (second time), disease-resistant Ruihong eggplant ground seeds, SJ-10-carried Ruihong eggplant ground seeds, purple-red long eggplant ground seeds, and the SJ-10-carried purple-red long eggplant seed (4th generation).
The “Space Seed Program Kickoff Ceremony” took place on May 9, 2025 (Friday). Student leaders Chu Ho Wang (S.4A), Chan Pui Lam Penny (S.4B), Tang Hui Yin (S.4B), and Lee Siu Him Cedric (S.4C) spoke about the importance of space-exposed seeds for biodiversity and food security. Guided by these leaders, junior students will participate in six months of planting, observation, data recording, analysis, and multidisciplinary research to enhance their practical skills and interdisciplinary learning. They will also prepare seed nomination reports to deepen their understanding of the value and significance of space-exposed seeds.
