Jiangsu Agricultural Study Tour 2025
The State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Big Education Platform 2.1, co-organized the "Jiangsu Agricultural Study Tour 2025." The event saw the participation of over 160 individuals, including more than 130 students from 16 secondary schools across Hong Kong. Participants also included School Principal Mr. Ho Tik Shun, Teacher Ms. Chan Ching Ki, and ten CFSS students.
During the study tour, students gained insights into the scientific principles of salt-tolerant ginkgo-soybean intercropping on tidal flats, explored the rice cultivation culture in the Jiangnan fishing and rice-making region, and learned about the unique features and aesthetic appreciation of Yangzhou gardens. With guidance from their teachers, university student leaders from New Asia College led secondary school students in exploring these topics through pre-trip preparation, group discussions during the visit, and presentations. Students also engaged in meaningful dialogues with researchers from Yangzhou University, sharing their visions and aspirations.
Upon returning to Hong Kong, the students will participate in a joint-school presentation in September. We hope that they will reflect on their experiences during this trip and have deeper insights.
