Our Students Excel with Multiple Accolades at the Territory-Wide "1872 Hong Kong Young Writers' Class" Graduation Ceremony
Rich Resources Foster New Literary Talents – CFSS Students Shine in Literature
Organised and curated by the China Merchants Group and the China Merchants Hong Kong Youth Federation, the "2025–2026 1872 Hong Kong Young Writers' Class Graduation Ceremony cum 'Love Our Fragrant Harbour, Write Our Future' Hong Kong Secondary Students' Pen Convention" was successfully held in our school hall on 28 June 2026. Our Principal, Mr Ho Tik-shun, graced the occasion as a presiding officiant, joining the Chief Education Officer of the Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government, Mr Tang Lok-to, the Chief Editor of Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, Mr Cheung Kwok-yee, and a number of distinguished guests from the literary and education sectors to witness this remarkable city-wide literary event.
Our school has long been committed to the philosophy of whole-person education, striving to provide students with top-tier and diverse learning resources. Over the past year, our students have had the privilege of receiving dedicated guidance from renowned literary mentors – Mr Zhao Yang, a member of the China Writers Association and Chairman of the China Merchants Hong Kong Youth Federation, as well as a number of national-level teaching experts. Under their tutelage, students completed a series of high-quality cross-thematic literary courses. They were also fully sponsored to undertake creative writing field trips to six Mainland cities, to visit the Mong Kok Flower Market during the Lunar New Year, and to receive professional training at the Lu Xun Academy of Literature in Beijing – the nation's premier literary institution – over the Easter holidays. These invaluable learning experiences have greatly broadened our students' cultural horizons and laid a solid foundation for their literary endeavours.
Excellence Shines Through Among City-Wide Competition
This year's Young Writers' Class brought together elite students from 24 renowned secondary schools across Hong Kong, making the competition exceptionally keen. In the territory-wide selection of outstanding trainees, CFSS distinguished itself with its strong literary calibre, winning multiple awards and emerging as the school with the highest number of awardees – a truly inspiring achievement.
The list of our award-winning students is as follows:

● Autographed Book Recipients from National-Level Writers
The organisers specially invited a number of national-level literary masters to autograph books for the trainees. Four of our students, recognised for their outstanding creative potential, were chosen as school representatives to receive these treasured volumes on stage:

Words of Gratitude and Hopes for the Future
The resounding success of this event and the splendid achievements we have attained would not have been possible without the steadfast support and meticulous planning of our organising and sponsoring bodies, including the China Merchants Group, the China Merchants Hong Kong Youth Federation, and China Merchants Hoi Tung Trading Company Limited. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Education Bureau, the China Writers Association, the National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, and other literary institutions for their keen interest and support. Our sincere thanks go to our distinguished instructors – Mr Zhao Yang, Professor Wang Hong, Chief Editor Mr You Jiang, and all other teaching experts – for their dedicated mentorship. The school is also deeply appreciative of the quiet dedication of our own teaching staff, as well as the hard work and perseverance of all participating and award-winning students.
We earnestly hope that every student in our school will take inspiration from our awardees, make the most of the rich and diverse academic resources available, and dare to explore and pursue their dreams. May they continue to achieve excellence in future territory-wide and international competitions, bringing further honour to our school. CFSS will continue to walk alongside every student, witnessing the rise of each new literary star as they shine ever brighter.
