CFSS Teachers Sharing Our Strenuous Efforts to Promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) Education in the CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project Orientation Day

With the support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, CFSS is able to be one of the six pioneering schools of The CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project to co-create a junior Artificial Intelligence curriculum for all Hong Kong Secondary Schools.

We strive to provide hands-on practice for students to realize the concepts, applications of AI, and its relationship with big data, machine learning and cloud computing. Students can develop computational mindset through different forms of open-ended questions, workshops and after-school training activities. As in Academic Year 2020-2021, over 70% of CFSS students have received AI Education.

On August 27, our students presented to other Hong Kong secondary schools on the topic “How to effectively raise students’ interest in learning AI” on the CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project Orientation Day. Our school plays the mentorship role to share our rationale and challenges of introducing AI education in the junior ICT curriculum, and proposes effective teaching solutions
