CFSS students joining HKU students to a night trip to Sha Lo Tung

The Environmental Life Science Society (ELSS), SS, HKUSU has organized a night trip to Sha Lo Tung on 6th July. The trip aimed at promoting interest in nature and ecology. Students were divided into three groups, each group was leaded by a HKU graduate who was experienced in investigating nature and ecology. The students were taken care of by the members of the ELSS as well.

 

Despite hot and humid weather, students were excited by the huge variety of organisms on the way up the hill to Sha Lo Tung. They have gained much knowledge on different species and their features under the detailed explanation of the HKU graduate. They also understand more about the negative effects the urban development has brought to the Hong Kong ecosystem.
