CFSS Pre-S.1 Interdisciplinary Experiential Learning Programme II – Languages and Sports

The second Pre-S.1 Interdisciplinary Experiential Learning Programme was organised on 17 May, 2014.

The event in the morning was language-based (Putonghua and English). Students were welcomed with various games we had prepared for them such as "Treasure Hunt" and "Library Book Hunt". They were asked to explore the "treasures" on the school campus. They also had a chance to use iPad and resources in the library to learn how to make good use of information technology to learn languages by themselves.

In the afternoon, the event was sports-based. Students were separated into boys' and girls' teams and were given two hours to try out six different kinds of sports which included archery, fencing, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and a work out on some of the facilities in our gym. It was exciting to see them eagerly exploring their potential at different kinds of sports.

With a variety of activities catering both for kinesthetic and read/write-preference learners, students were encouraged to identify their preferred learning style and to maximize their educational experience through our tailor-made activities. Needless to say, it was a very enjoyable day for all of us.
