Learning Lithostratigraphy in Geology & Climate Change Resource Centre

What are rock strata, sedimentation and sedimentary rock? Junior students may find these concepts difficult. The Geography Club organized a workshop named “Rock Cuisine” on 3 December 2014 in GCCRC to introduce these concepts to club members. Through making a unique-styled Macau Pudding, students learnt the processes of sedimentary rock formation such as erosion, deposition and lithification. Participants were impressed by the workshop.

  • Justin Chum and Justin Lee explaining the formation process of sedimentary rock and its similarities with the making of Macau Pudding

  • Committee members preparing for the cream to be used

  • Students making their own Macau Pudding
