Shanxi Cultural Tour Led by Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chaiwan Centre
Under the encouragement and recommendation from CFSS, 23 students joined a 7-day Shanxi cultural tour organized by Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chaiwan Centre from where our School Social Worker comes. In this trip, not only did the students have a chance to serve the orphans and primary school students in Taiyuan, but they also visited the Ancient City of Ping Yao together with Ping Yao Secondary School students. They acknowledged the eye-opening learning: grateful education in Changchi Eighth Secondary School, discipline training in a military school in Xinhua, and an on-site Chinese History lesson by visiting Shanxi Museum and 8th Route Army Memorial.
Before the trip, the students spent time designing the tour T-shirt, tour guide book and souvenirs. They also planned activities in these cultural exchange programmes. All students happily shared their feedback at the debriefing sessions every night.
