CFSS 3D Printing and Robotics Fair

The 3D Printing and Robotics Fair is the first of three accredited activities of CFSS in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. It was a great success on 8 July 2017. We have totally set up 10 practical workshops to cover a variety of domains in robotics and 3D printing for the general public. All participants have been actively engaged in the hands-on workshops to understand the concept and knowledge to create a workable model or product after the workshops. One of the most interesting activities was to build an underwater robot with a group of kids. It was great fun, and all participants could control their robots to dive after the workshops. Apart from the practical workshops, we have also set up a number of booths to exhibit different kinds of technologies. For example, we enabled sustainable 3D printing by recycling the 3D printing materials to rebuild the filament. Two models of humanoid robots were compared in the context of education. The book fair in the library showcased the books on robotics and 3D printing. Topics included programming, robotics, circuit board design, 3D printing and robotics for the future, etc. Not only did the library provide a quiet and relaxing place to learn, it manifested our effort to implement self-directed learning.
