Learning through Statistics Creative Writing Competition
Our S.5 students joined the 2018/19 Statistics Creative-Writing Competition for Secondary School Students this term which aims at arousing students’ interest in statistics and encouraging them to creatively express the daily applications of statistical concepts in words. The competition, organised by Hong Kong Statistical Society and co-organised by Education Bureau, requires students to write a story that involves and explains a daily applications of statistical concepts. Our S.5B students Lee Yan Tung, Leung Tim Yi and Ng Tsam Yung enjoyed themselves as they write, and had their story shortlisted as one of the fourteen selected entries in the senior section, winning HK$100 book coupons. As a new comer to this kind of competition, the girls explored much rooms for improvement from the sharing of other teams. We wish them the best in their statistics learning in the future.
